✦ New season

Discover a brand-new light exhibition

As dusk falls, the door to a magical realm swings open. Wrap up warm and set off on a fairytale journey into the world of Colours of the Exotic. The light will guide you across the savannah, where a lion slips through the shadows of the trees. You'll dive into an underwater world with dolphins and pause by a lagoon full of flamingos.

The light sculptures will take you far beyond the everyday. Step by step, you'll rediscover places you know from faraway travels.

Curious to see what the garden hides after dark? The answer awaits in the heart of Warsaw.

You'll find the MagicznyBotaniczny (MagicalBotanical) garden of lights: Colours of the Exotic in the University of Warsaw Botanic Garden, right next to the Royal Baths Park (Łazienki Królewskie).

✦ 2026/27 Exhibition

The light will guide you through the savannah, the ocean and the jungle

Along the route, you'll meet a lion in the shade of the trees, a lagoon full of flamingos and an underwater world with dolphins.

Gate of Colours

A rainbow portal opens the route — a passage from wintry Warsaw straight into the tropics.

Neon Jungle

Chameleons, lianas and monstera leaves woven from thousands of points of light.

Ocean of Light

Jellyfish drifting overhead and fish darting between the trunks of century-old trees.

Carpets of Flowers

Flowerbeds full of glowing blooms that only blossom after dark.

Golden Animals

Life-size deer, bears and birds — garden residents you'll never meet by day.

Birds of Paradise

The grand finale in the colours of the strelitzia — the most exotic spot this winter.

✦ Family trail game

Your visit
turns into an expedition

You can explore on your own or let the family trail game lead the way.

At the entrance, you'll receive a Passport to the Tropics. Open it, and the paths beneath your feet will unfold into a fairytale. Every stop brings a new clue and a new question that leads you onwards: Why does a cactus have spines? Why are flamingos pink? How loud can a lion roar? Does an elephant really never forget?

Look for the answers to these and other questions between light and shadow, among tropical leaves and animal silhouettes. Collect stamps as keepsakes of your journey. A little prize awaits you at the end.

1

Pick up your Passport to the Tropics

2

3

Collect a little prize

Show your passport with all the stamps at the end of the route.

No app, no downloads — the passport and stamps are waiting on site, and the game lasts as long as your walk.

Coffee, tea and delicious cake on site

Hot coffee, tea and something sweet are waiting for you in the garden of lights — the perfect stop halfway through your walk or at the end of the evening.

Due to the historic nature of the site, visitor limits apply, and bicycles, scooters and sledges are not allowed.

Due to the presence of rare and protected plant species, dogs and other animals are not allowed in the garden of lights.

The paths in the garden of lights are suitable for pushchairs. They are also accessible to people with limited mobility.

During heavy snowfall, getting around with a pushchair or wheelchair may be difficult, and there may be icy patches in places. The paths are cleared of snow and gritted with sand, but because of the rare and protected plant species in the garden, no salt is used on them.
